Transcript for Parent Storytellers

Once upon a time, there was a kid named Shelly who loved shells.

Not just any shells, either. Shelly loved sparkly shells.

If a shell had a tiny shine, Shelly would notice it right away. If a shell had a little glittery stripe, Shelly would hold it up to the sun and smile like she’d just found a secret treasure.

One sunny morning, Shelly skipped down to the beach with a small bucket and a pencil for sketching. She wore her favorite sandals, because they made a soft flip-flop sound that felt like a marching song.

“Shell day,” Shelly whispered to herself. “The best kind of day.”

She started her shell hunt near the tide line, where the waves slid in and out like they were breathing. Shelly crouched down and carefully picked up a smooth white shell. Then a pink one. Then a tiny one that looked like it had been painted with faint dots.

Shelly held up the dotted shell and turned it in the light.

“Ooo,” she said. “This one is almost sparkly.”

She placed it gently into her bucket, like it was a baby bird.

Just then, a cloud drifted away from the sun, and the air changed. It smelled fresh and watery, like the ocean had just taken a big sip.

Shelly looked up.

A rainbow was stretching across the sky.

It started near the water and reached all the way toward the hills, like someone had painted a giant smile in the air.

Shelly’s mouth fell open.

“A rainbow!” she said. “A rainbow rainbow!”

She grabbed her sketchbook from her backpack so fast it nearly bonked her on the nose. She flipped it open, planted her pencil on the paper, and began drawing the rainbow’s curve.

But halfway through the first stripe, Shelly stopped.

She stared at her pencil. She stared at her plain paper.

Then she stared at the rainbow again.

“I want to draw it,” Shelly said. “But I want it to be a sparkly rainbow.”

She peeked into her bucket of shells. There were shells, yes. Some were shiny. A few were extra bright. But none of them were the kind of sparkles Shelly was imagining.

Shelly sighed.

“There is just one problem,” she said. “I don’t have sparkles.”

She blinked hard, like maybe sparkles would appear if she blinked the right way.

They didn’t.

Shelly pressed her lips together and thought.

Then her face changed.

Her eyes widened.

“Oh,” Shelly said slowly. “Oh! I know! I know!”

“Know what?” a voice nearby asked.

Shelly turned and saw a kid walking along the beach with a little notebook in her hand. She had a thoughtful look on her face, like she was always in the middle of a good idea.

It was Charlie.

Charlie waved. “Hi! You’re Shelly, right? The one who finds the best shells.”

Shelly stood a little taller. “That’s me.”

Charlie glanced up at the sky. “That rainbow is huge.”

“I’m trying to draw it,” Shelly said, holding up her sketchbook. “But I want it to be sparkly, and I don’t have sparkles.”

Charlie nodded seriously, like this was an important problem.

“You know,” Charlie said, “one time I went to a tea party with frogs. A counting tea party.”

Shelly’s eyes grew wide. “A counting tea party with frogs?”

Charlie nodded. “They wore tiny hats. They poured tea carefully. And they counted everything. Cups, cookies, napkins, even little sugar cubes.”

Shelly smiled. “That sounds amazing.”

“It was,” Charlie said. “And the frogs taught me something. When you don’t have what you need, you can either give up… or you can make a plan.”

Shelly nodded hard. “Plan!”

Charlie pointed at her sketchbook. “So what’s your plan for sparkles?”

Shelly lifted her pencil like a microphone. “My plan is… to find sparkles.”

Charlie grinned. “Good plan. Where do you find them?”

Shelly looked around. The wet sand shimmered. The water flashed in the sun. Even some shells seemed to wink.

But she wanted sparkles she could use on her paper. Sparkles that would stay.

“Maybe,” Shelly said, “we ask somebody else.”

Charlie nodded. “Yeah. Someone who likes ideas.”

Just then, a familiar voice called out, “Hey! What are you two working on?”

Shelly and Charlie turned and saw Oni Pepperoni walking toward them, a small bag over his shoulder and a curious smile on his face.

“Oni!” Charlie said. “Hi!”

Shelly waved. “Hi Oni Pepperoni!”

Oni looked up at the sky. “Whoa. That’s a really good rainbow.”

“I want to draw it,” Shelly said. “But I want it to be sparkly, and I don’t have sparkles.”

Oni tapped his chin. “Okay. I have two questions.”

Shelly leaned in.

“First,” Oni said, “are we allowed to use glitter?”

Charlie shrugged. “Glitter is sparkly.”

Oni nodded. “It is. But glitter gets everywhere.”

Shelly imagined glitter in her hair, her shoes, and her sandwich.

She shook her head. “No thank you.”

“Second question,” Oni said. “Do you want nature sparkles?”

Shelly’s eyes lit up. “Yes!”

Oni smiled. “Good. Because the beach is full of them.”

The three of them walked along the shoreline together, like a small team. Shelly carried her bucket. Charlie held her notebook. Oni glanced up at the rainbow every few steps, just to make sure it was still there.

They stopped where tiny pieces of shell were mixed into the sand, shining softly.

Oni crouched. “See these? Tiny shell bits.”

Shelly scooped some into her palm. “They’re like sparkle crumbs.”

Charlie nodded. “Good sparkle crumbs.”

Oni said, “Only the smooth ones.”

Shelly carefully picked out the safe, shiny pieces and tucked them into her bucket.

Nearby, Shelly spotted a flat rock with a thin layer of dried salt left behind by the tide.

Charlie touched it. “It feels crunchy.”

“Salt can look sparkly when it dries,” Oni said.

Shelly’s eyes widened. “Can we use it?”

Oni nodded. “With glue. Just a tiny pinch.”

Shelly nodded seriously. “A tiny pinch.”

Then Shelly spotted a shell on a piece of driftwood. It shone softly, like it had its own light.

“A sparkle shell,” she said.

Charlie leaned closer. “That one’s special.”

Oni smiled. “That can be your inspiration.”

Shelly hugged it to her chest.

Oni gestured around them. “See? We didn’t have to go anywhere. The beach already had everything we needed.”

Shelly turned slowly, looking at the sand, the water, and the light dancing everywhere. “You’re right.”

She looked up at the rainbow again. “I want my drawing to glow like that.”

Charlie opened her notebook. “The frogs would say: step by step.”

Shelly nodded. “Step by step.”

Oni sat on a flat rock and opened his bag. Inside was a small bottle of glue and a little brush.

Charlie blinked. “Why do you have glue?”

Oni shrugged. “Just in case.”

Shelly laughed.

They spread everything out on the rock.

Shelly drew the rainbow carefully. Red. Orange. Yellow. Green. Blue. Purple.

“Glue time?” she asked.

Oni handed her the brush.

Shelly painted thin glue lines and added tiny dots around the rainbow.

“Nature sparkles,” Oni said.

Shelly sprinkled shell crumbs and added a tiny pinch of salt.

They waited.

The glue set.

Shelly lifted the page.

The rainbow shimmered.

Not like store glitter.

Like beach sparkle.

“I did it,” Shelly said softly. “I made a sparkly rainbow.”

Charlie pointed up. The real rainbow was fading.

“It’s okay,” Shelly said. “I saved it.”

Oni nodded. “And you made it your own.”

Charlie smiled. “The frogs would be proud.”

Shelly giggled. “Tell them thanks.”

They walked back toward school together, Shelly holding her drawing carefully.

Maybe next time, she’d draw a sparkly rainbow with a shell castle underneath.

Because with Shelly, you never knew what she would make next.

The post Shelly and the Sparkly Rainbow Plan first appeared on Oni Pepperoni.

Transcript for Parent Storytellers

Chicken and Banana were walking to school together, singing their favorite morning song as they went.

Chicken took big, bouncy steps. “Chicken, Banana,” he sang.

Banana swung his peel like an arm and added, “Chicken, Banana,”

They laughed so hard Chicken nearly tripped over his own feet and Banana almost slipped on his peel.

As they approached the elementary school, they slowed down. Something strange hovered over the playground — a huge cloud of green mist, floating in swirly loops above the monkey bars. It drifted around like slime-colored cotton candy.

Banana sniffed the air. “Chicken… do you smell that?”

Chicken pinched his beak. “It smells like farts.”

Banana nodded. “But also like snow and crystals. Snow-crystal farts.”

Chicken squinted suspiciously at Banana. “Banana… did you fart?”

Banana gasped. “No! I was going to ask you the same thing!”

Before they could argue about it, they heard the quick patter of paws behind them, followed by a long, loud fart that made the leaves on the trees shake.

They spun around.

It was Bodie, Oni Pepperoni’s yellow dog, sprinting down the sidewalk with his ears flapping and his tongue hanging out. Every step he took released another small puff of glowing green mist.

Chicken pointed. “Bodie! Why are you farting green?”

Bodie skidded to a stop in front of them. “I’m glad I caught you,” he panted. “My tummy hurts so much.”

Another small fart slipped out, and a new puff of green mist floated into the air.

Banana waved frantically in front of his face. “What did you eat?”

Bodie looked embarrassed. “I ate a lot of avocados yesterday. And some garlic from the counter. And the leftover taco that nobody wanted. And maybe a slice of banana bread I found on a plate.”

Banana stared at him. “You ate banana bread without asking me?”

Bodie shrugged miserably. “I was hungry. But now my tummy feels terrible and I can’t stop farting.”

Chicken put a wing on his hip. “Well, that explains the green mist.”

Banana looked toward the school. “If we do not fix this, the teachers will think a stink monster is attacking the playground.”

Chicken nodded. “There is only one place that can help a tummy disaster like this.”

Together they said, “The school garden.”

Bodie trotted behind them, still leaving little clouds of green mist. Banana pinched his nose and spoke in a sing-song voice.

“Chicken choo, Banana choo, Bodie choo-choo-choo.”

They reached the garden gate and slipped inside. Raised beds full of vegetables lined the space — leafy greens, carrots, pumpkins, and herbs. The air smelled fresh and earthy, a lot better than the mist on the playground.

Chicken pointed to a cluster of small orange pumpkins. “Those will help. Pumpkin is good for upset dog tummies.”

Banana nodded. “And a little soft carrot too. But no more garlic. Ever.”

As they gathered vegetables, they heard footsteps behind them. When they turned, Avery the cheetah was kneeling beside a plant bed, wearing gardening gloves and a bandana with tiny paw prints on it. She was carefully pulling weeds away from a row of lettuce.

Avery looked up. “Oh hey, Chicken. Hey, Banana. Hi, Bodie.” She sniffed and raised an eyebrow. “Why does it smell like glowing farts?”

Banana pointed at Bodie. “We have a tummy emergency.”

Chicken added, “He ate avocados, garlic, tacos, and banana bread. Now his tummy is very unhappy.”

Avery placed a paw over her heart. “Bodie, you know dogs are not supposed to eat garlic.”

Bodie lowered his ears. “I know. I did not think about it. I just grabbed whatever smelled good. Now my stomach hurts and I feel awful.”

Avery stood and walked over to a small gardening cart. “The good news is that pumpkin and carrots can help soothe a dog’s belly. Let’s make you a simple veggie snack.”

Chicken and Banana helped scoop the soft inside of a small ripe pumpkin into a bowl. Avery added pieces of cooked carrot from a container she had packed for her lunch. She gently mixed them together.

“Eat this slowly,” Avery said, setting the bowl in front of Bodie. “Chew well and give your tummy a chance to calm down.”

Bodie sniffed the mixture. It smelled mild and a little sweet. He took a careful bite. Then another. Then a bigger one.

He paused, ears twitching and tail lifting just a little. Chicken and Banana watched him nervously.

Bodie’s stomach rumbled once, and a small, quiet fart slipped out. A tiny puff of green mist floated up… and disappeared.

They waited.

Nothing else happened.

Bodie blinked. He wiggled his hips a little. Then he bounced on his paws.

“My tummy does not hurt anymore,” he said. “I feel so much better.”

He did a little circle, tail wagging. “The vegetables helped. I actually feel light again.”

Chicken raised both wings. “Vegetables for the win.”

Banana clapped his peel ends together. “Thank you, pumpkin. Thank you, carrots.”

Avery smiled. “Next time, stick to dog food and dog treats. No garlic, no tacos, and definitely no secret banana bread.”

Banana crossed his arms. “Yes. Especially that last part.”

Just then the school bell rang. Kids spilled out into the yard, laughing and running. The green mist had faded away completely, leaving only the normal smell of morning and grass.

Chicken looked at Bodie. “How is your tummy now?”

“Much better,” Bodie said, wagging. “I am going to try to eat healthier from now on.”

Banana pointed a peel at him. “If you forget, we are bringing you straight back to Avery and the vegetable patrol.”

Avery chuckled. “I will always have a pumpkin ready.”

They all laughed.

As they walked toward the school entrance together, Bodie said quietly, “Healthy food really does help.”

Chicken grinned. “It helps your tummy. And it smells better for everyone around you.”

Banana nodded. “That is a very important lesson.”

Bodie tilted his head. “What lesson is that?”

Chicken answered, “When you eat better, you feel better.”

Banana added, “And your friends do not have to walk through green mist on the way to school.”

Bodie laughed. “Deal. More vegetables, fewer mystery farts.”

With that, the three friends headed into school together — Chicken marching proudly, Banana humming their chicken-and-banana song, and Bodie trotting beside them, completely mist-free and ready for the day.

The post Chicken & Banana’s Green Mist Breakfast Mystery first appeared on Oni Pepperoni.

Transcript for Parent Storytellers

Oni Pepperoni pulled his green cap tight and zipped his jacket. Today he was hiking back to the snowy mountains to visit his friend, the Friendly Yeti. The ranger helicopter touched down near a pine forest. Oni hopped out and waved to the pilot. “See you at sunset!” He followed a crunchy trail that led to a sparkling stream.

“Bumble?” Oni called. “Bumble the Friendly Yeti?” A big, gentle shape ducked from behind a boulder. “Hello, little friend,” said Bumble, fluff shaking like a warm blanket. “You made it!” Oni smiled. “I missed you. Ready for a new adventure?” Bumble nodded so hard a little puff of snow fell from his head. “I am. But I have a problem. Our village lights went out last night.”

“Lights?” Oni asked. “Alphabet Lanterns,” Bumble said. “They guide travelers home in the snow. Each lantern turns on with a letter sound. But the wind mixed them up. Now no one can remember which sound goes with which lantern.” Oni’s eyes went wide. “We can fix that! I’m learning letters in Kindergarten. Let’s go!”

At the first turn, they found a frosty arch with a sign: A. A small, sleepy arctic fox curled beside it like a white comma. Oni held his fists at his sides and pretended tiny ants were crawling on his arms. “‘A’ says ‘A’ like ant,” he said, doing quick little ant wiggles. The arch glowed orange, then bright gold. The fox yawned, stretched, and trotted away, tail high. Bumble clapped. “You did it!”

They hiked on until they reached a bent tree shaped like a giant hook. A wooden tag dangled from a branch: B. “‘B’ says ‘B’ like bounce,” Oni said, touching his lips together. He bent his knees and did three tiny hops. The tag chimed and a lantern hidden in the snow blinked on, blue and bright. Bumble grinned. “Two letters, two lights.”

They turned a corner and came to a wide log bridge over fast water. A small sign at the start read C. Oni made his hand into a crab claw. “‘C’ says ‘C’ like cat,” he said, snapping his fingers. A row of lights flickered along the bridge, leading them safely across. On the far bank, Oni spotted a familiar buzz. “Buzzy the Bee!” he called. Buzzy zipped in a zigzag. “Hi, Oni! Hi, Bumble! Are you fixing the Alphabet Lanterns?” “We are,” Oni said. “Want to help until the next flower field?” Buzzy saluted with a tiny leg. “I’ll hum the beat.”

They followed the river to a snow cave. Faint letters were carved at the door: D. Oni drummed on his knees. “‘D’ says ‘D’ like drum,” he said, tapping a rhythm. Buzzy hummed a beat. Bumble tapped his big toe. The cave door glowed and slid open. Inside, warm crystals lit a path. They didn’t go in—this was a lantern checkpoint, not a dungeon—but the door’s glow sent a beam up the mountain. “Four lights,” Bumble said. “The village will be so happy.”

A drift had buried the next sign, so only the top showed. Oni brushed snow away: E. He cupped his hands around his mouth. “‘E’ says ‘E’ like echo,” he shouted. Across the valley, a second echo bounced back. A lantern on a far cliff flicked on—green and steady. Buzzy twirled. “You’re on a roll.”

They reached a frozen meadow with a fence post shaped like a flag. Tied to it was a cloth tag: F. Oni blew softly through his teeth. “‘F’ says ‘F’ like feather,” he said, brushing snow with his glove like a feather swish. A hidden lantern under the post glowed warm white. Bumble pointed his fuzzy paw up the slope. “Next is the windy pass.”

The wind whooshed as they climbed. Snow swirled in curly loops. At a bend stood a stack of glacier rocks forming a tall neck with a round head. The little sign read G. Oni pretended to push a heavy gift. “‘G’ says ‘G’ like gift,” he said, giving a silly grunt. The rock stack shivered, then settled, and a deep golden lantern came alive beneath it.

Behind the rock stack, the trail narrowed and led to a tiny hut made of branches. A heart-shaped wreath hung crookedly. The tag said H. Oni breathed out like he was fogging a mirror. “‘H’ says ‘H’ like hot,” he said, puffing warm air. A lantern in the hut window glowed cozy and calm. Inside the wreath, someone had tucked a note: “Thank you.” Bumble blinked away happy ice-tears.

The next sign was planted beside a quiet, icy pond. Letters floated on the surface like lily pads: I. Oni pointed a finger straight up like a tall stick. “‘I’ says ‘I’ like igloo,” he said with a quick smile. The ice rang like a bell. Light rose from beneath the pond and formed a soft silver lantern on the shore.

They stopped for snacks—granola for Oni, a big snowberry for Bumble, one drop of wildflower honey for Buzzy. Then they marched on. The trail led to a cluster of trees shaped like a jigsaw piece. A sign by the roots read J. Oni pretended to jump rope. “‘J’ says ‘J’ like jump,” he said, hopping three quick hops. A lantern in the branches blinked on and swayed gently like it was cheering.

Farther on, they met a little goat kid standing in the path, staring at a sign shaped like two long sticks. The painted letter read K. The goat’s ears twitched. “Stuck?” Oni asked. The goat nodded. Oni tapped the sign gently. “‘K’ says ‘K’ like kite,” he said. The goat tried a tiny tap-tap. A lantern on the sign popped to life, and the goat bleated happily and trotted away.

They rounded a wide curve and reached a flat snowfield. A single sign stood tall: L. Oni licked his lips and smiled. “‘L’ says ‘L’ like lollipop,” he said. A lantern at the sign’s base lit up lemon-yellow.

The wind grew softer as they entered a shallow canyon. A small wooden bridge crossed a crack in the ice, and the post at the start read M. Oni pressed his lips closed and hummed. “‘M’ says ‘M’ like muffin,” he said, pretending to take a big bite. The bridge rail twinkled with tiny lights, then a full lantern glowed mint-green.

Soon they reached a giant stone shaped like a circle with a bite taken out. Engraved on it was N. Oni touched his nose. “‘N’ says ‘N’ like nose,” he said. A pale lantern flickered on top of the stone and held steady.

At the ridge sat a snow hut with a round hole for a window and a sign that read O. Oni made a round mouth. “‘O’ says ‘O’ like octopus,” he said. A circle of light spun around the window and became a bright lantern.

They crossed into the high meadow. A wooden post ahead leaned like it was trying to run, and the sign on it read P. Oni made a tiny popping sound. “‘P’ says ‘P’ like pop,” he said. Tiny snowflakes puffed off the sign, and a pinkish lantern blinked on.

The path wound into a stand of spruce trees. On the middle tree, a square sign read Q. Oni puckered his lips. “‘Q’ says ‘Q’ like queen,” he said. A lantern with a little crown shape lit up.

They reached a rock that looked like a chair. A hanging tag swung from a hook: R. Oni growled softly. “‘R’ says ‘R’ like rain,” he said. A ruby lantern under the seat clicked on.

The next sign was fixed to a tree stump. It read S. The stump looked like a coiled snake. Oni hissed. “‘S’ says ‘S’ like snake,” he said. A slim lantern uncurled from the stump like a shiny ribbon.

They were nearing the village now. One last turn brought them to a wooden gate. Its sign read T. Oni tapped his tongue behind his teeth. “‘T’ says ‘T’ like tap,” he said. A crisp white lantern blinked on above the gate.

They stepped through and found a small clearing with three more signs arranged in a circle: U, V, W. “Teamwork time,” Oni said. For U, he cupped his hands like a little cup. “‘U’ says ‘U’ like umbrella,” he said. For V, Buzzy buzzed low and steady. “‘V’ says ‘V’ like vacuum,” Oni said. For W, Oni blew gently. “‘W’ says ‘W’ like wind,” he said. Three lanterns spun awake, bright and cheerful.

They crossed the final footbridge into Bumble’s village. Three unlit posts waited by the meeting hall. Each had a sign: X, Y, Z. Snow began to fall in soft flakes. Oni rubbed his hands together. “We can do this.” He drew an X in the air with his finger. “‘X’ says ‘X’ like X-ray,” he said. The lantern clicked on with a sharp, sparkly sound. For Y, he stretched his arms wide. “‘Y’ says ‘Y’ like yellow,” Oni said. The lantern glowed sunny and bright. For Z, Oni made a zigzag in the snow. “‘Z’ says ‘Z’ like zipper,” he said. The final lantern burst into light—gold and lively.

All around the square, doors opened. Friendly Yetis peeked out, eyes warm and grateful. The chief Yeti stepped forward with a knitted scarf in both hands. “For our small friend,” she said, placing it around Oni’s neck. “You brought the letters back to life.” Buzzy hovered near Oni’s ear. “You did it, letter hero.”

Oni looked up the mountain. From the trail to the village square, Alphabet Lanterns shone in order, A to Z, like a glowing path home. Bumble reached down a huge hand. “Thank you,” he said softly. “You helped more than you know.” They spent the afternoon sipping cocoa in the meeting hall. Oni taught the villagers the simple moves and sounds for each letter. The Yetis tried the actions with giant, careful hands.

By sunset, the helicopter thumped overhead. It was time for Oni to head home. On the snowy field, Bumble bent down so Oni could pat his furry cheek. “See you soon?” Oni asked. “Soon,” Bumble promised. “The mountains are brighter now.” Oni climbed into the helicopter and pressed his hand to the window. Bumble waved until the chopper was a dot in the orange sky. Below, in the growing dusk, the Alphabet Lanterns glowed like a necklace of stars.

The post Oni Pepperoni and the Friendly Yeti’s Alphabet Rescue first appeared on Oni Pepperoni.

Chompy the Dinosaur had just returned from his big backpacking adventure across mountains, streams, and valleys. He was proud of how far he had traveled and all the friends he had met along the way. But now that he was home, he felt a little restless.

“I think I’m ready for another adventure,” Chompy said to himself one sunny morning. He tightened the straps on his trusty backpack. “This time, I want to notice all the different shapes around me.”

Chompy had heard about shapes from his friend Oni Pepperoni, who had just started Kindergarten. “Shapes are everywhere!” Oni had told him. “Squares, circles, rectangles, triangles, even tricky ones like hexagons!”

Chompy thought it sounded like a perfect challenge.

As Chompy walked down the trail, he came to a small wooden bridge. Each plank was cut into a perfect square. “A square has four sides,” Chompy reminded himself. He stomped across slowly, counting the sides out loud. “One, two, three, four!” When he reached the end of the bridge, a little voice called out, “Nice counting, Chompy!”

It was Violet the penguin, one of the penguin sisters he had met up north. She was waddling nearby with a tiny notebook. “I’m practicing drawing shapes,” Violet said proudly. “See my square?” She showed him her paper. Sure enough, she had drawn a box with four equal sides. “Great work, Violet,” Chompy said with a smile. “Squares make strong bridges and great drawings.”

A little farther down the path, Chompy spotted a small cabin. The front had a big rectangle door. He ran his claws along the edge. “A rectangle has four sides too, but two are long and two are short.” He knocked politely, and the door creaked open. Inside was Captain Milky Way the astronaut cow, on vacation from her dairy farm in space. “Hello, Chompy!” Captain Milky Way greeted. “I rented this rectangle-shaped cabin for some rest. Rectangles make perfect doors, windows, and even books.” She showed him a rectangle book full of her space adventures. “Want to borrow it for your journey?” “Yes, please!” Chompy said. He slid the rectangle-shaped book into his backpack and waved goodbye.

Soon, Chompy came to a pond shaped like a giant circle. The water rippled round and round. “Circles have no corners,” Chompy whispered. “They go all the way around without stopping.” Floating in the middle was Oni Pepperoni, wearing his favorite green cap. He was tossing pebbles into the pond. “Look, Chompy!” Oni shouted. “Every pebble makes a circle ripple!” Chompy tossed one in too. Together, they watched the rings widen, circle after circle. “Circles can roll, ripple, and spin,” Oni said thoughtfully.

By afternoon, Chompy grew tired and looked for a resting spot. Ahead was a tent made of bright red fabric, shaped like a big triangle. “A triangle has three sides,” Chompy said, tracing them with his claw. “One, two, three.” Inside the tent was Niko, one of Oni’s buddies, who had set it up as a rest stop. “Triangles are super strong,” Niko explained. “That’s why tents and roofs use them. Want to share some triangle crackers?” Chompy happily accepted. Together, they munched on the crunchy triangle-shaped snacks.

As the sun dipped low, Chompy passed a field buzzing with bees. He noticed their honeycomb was made of perfect hexagons. “A hexagon has six sides,” Chompy counted carefully. “One, two, three, four, five, six!” Buzzy the Bee buzzed out of the hive and waved a tiny wing. “Hi, Chompy! Hexagons fit together so neatly, they make the best honeycomb.” Chompy admired the golden pattern. “That’s amazing, Buzzy. Six-sided shapes keep your honey safe.” Buzzy offered him a small jar of honey for the road. “Sweet travels, my friend!”

That night, Chompy set up camp under the open sky. As darkness fell, he gazed upward. The stars twinkled in all sorts of star shapes. “Stars aren’t perfect like squares or circles,” Chompy said quietly, “but they’re still beautiful.” Oni Pepperoni and Violet joined him at the campsite, each pointing to their favorite stars. “Shapes are everywhere,” Oni said. “Even in the sky.”

Chompy nodded, feeling proud. “Today I saw squares, rectangles, circles, triangles, hexagons, and stars. Shapes help make the world strong, useful, and beautiful. Everywhere you look, there’s a shape to discover.”

The friends lay back on the grass, watching the sky until they drifted off to sleep.

The post Chompy the Dinosaur and the Shapes Along the Trail first appeared on Oni Pepperoni.

Transcript for Parent Storytellers

Last time we saw Chatta Max, he had just finished his exciting visit to Captain Milky Way’s ice cream farm in space. He had tasted the most amazing rainbow ice cream flavors, and he even discovered his new favorite — space chocolate! But today, something very different was about to happen.

Chatta Max was still buzzing with excitement as he floated outside the dairy farm. His tiny worm body was gone again, and he had turned back into his green, fuzzy self with big blue eyes. He zipped around in his chocolate-sponsored UFO, shouting, “This is the best day ever!”

But suddenly, something unexpected happened. As he reached for another space chocolate bar inside his cockpit, he realized… it was gone. The whole box was empty!

“What?!” Chatta Max shouted. “Who ate all my space chocolate?!”

Just then, Chompy the Dinosaur drifted by in his floaty hotel infinity pool. He looked very relaxed, splashing gently with his tail. “Oh hi, Max!” Chompy called. “Did you know the cosmic dolphins brought snacks? I may have grabbed a few.”

Chatta Max’s eyes grew wide. His fuzzy cheeks turned red. “YOU ate my chocolate bars?!”

Chompy looked embarrassed. “Well… I thought they were for sharing. I didn’t mean to make you upset.”

But Max was already fuming. He stomped his tiny feet on the dashboard. “I’m so ANGRY right now!” he shouted. “I wanted those! They were mine!” His voice echoed inside the UFO.

At that very moment, Captain Milky Way trotted over in her shiny astronaut suit. “What’s all this yelling about?” she asked gently.

“He ate my chocolate!” Max said, his little fists balled up. “And now I’m MAD!”

Captain Milky Way nodded calmly. “It sounds like you feel angry, Max. And that’s okay. Everyone feels angry sometimes. But what matters is what we do when we’re angry.”

Chatta Max crossed his fuzzy arms and huffed. “But I don’t WANT to calm down!”

Captain Milky Way knelt down beside him. “Max, anger is like space fire. If you let it burn wild, it can hurt your friends. But if you stop, take a deep breath, and use your words, the fire cools down. Want to try it with me?”

Max was still grumpy, but he agreed. Together they took a deep breath. “Inhale… exhale…” Captain Milky Way said. Chompy joined in too, blowing bubbles in his pool.

Slowly, Max’s red cheeks turned back to green. His fists relaxed. “Okay,” he said quietly. “I’m still mad… but I don’t feel like exploding anymore.”

Chompy swam closer. “I’m sorry, Max. I should have asked before eating the chocolate.”

Max took another deep breath. “I forgive you, Chompy. But next time, please ask first. I really liked those bars.”

“Deal!” said Chompy, shaking Max’s fuzzy hand with his big dinosaur claw.

Captain Milky Way smiled. “See, Max? You can be angry, but also kind. That’s the strongest kind of space power.”

The three friends sat together, sharing the snacks that were left. Instead of chocolate, they had comet cookies and stardust popcorn. And to Max’s surprise, they tasted almost as good.

The post Chatta Max and the Space Farm Tantrum first appeared on Oni Pepperoni.

Transcript for Parent Storytellers

Chatta Max was back home under Oni Pepperoni’s bathtub, sitting on his giant couch and feeling restless. He had just returned from his amazing alphabet adventure to Mexico, but he couldn’t stop thinking about all the wonderful places he still wanted to visit.

“I feel so excited!” Chatta Max said to himself, bouncing up and down on his couch. “Excited is when you feel happy and full of energy about something that’s going to happen!”

Chatta Max had received a very special invitation from his friend Captain Milky Way, the astronaut cow who lived on Mars. The invitation was written on sparkly space paper and said: “Come visit my dairy farm in space! We’re making the most amazing ice cream flavors in the galaxy!”

“Oh, what a wonderful day this is going to be!” Chatta Max exclaimed, packing his tiny backpack once again. “I can’t wait to see Captain Milky Way and taste space ice cream!”

As Chatta Max prepared for his journey, he felt his energy growing stronger and stronger. It was like having bubbles of happiness floating around in his tummy, making him want to laugh and dance and chat even more than usual.

“When I feel this way, my whole body feels full of energy!” Chatta Max said as he bounced around his little home. “This feeling makes me want to move and talk and explore!”

Chatta Max climbed up through the bathtub drain and launched himself into the sky. As he flew higher and higher toward space, something magical began to happen. His tiny green body started to stretch and wiggle until he transformed into a small, wiggly worm!

“Wow! I’m a space worm!” Chatta Max laughed, still feeling incredibly happy. “This is amazing! This feeling makes everything seem like an adventure!”

As Space Worm Chatta Max flew through the atmosphere, he felt his happiness bubbling over. The stars looked so bright, and space felt so big and full of possibilities. Just as he reached the outer layers of the atmosphere, another transformation began.

FLASH! Suddenly, Chatta Max wasn’t a worm anymore. He had transformed into a friendly green alien wearing the coolest race helmet covered with twinkling stars!

“I’m an alien pilot!” Chatta Max cheered, now sitting in his very own UFO spaceship. “And look at my super cool helmet! I feel like I could burst with joy!”

The UFO was painted with the logo of his favorite chocolate brand, and it flew faster than anything Chatta Max had ever experienced. As he zoomed through space in his chocolate-sponsored racing ship, Chatta Max felt pure happiness.

“This is the best feeling!” he called out as he flew past asteroids and shooting stars. “It makes me feel brave and happy and ready for anything!”

As Chatta Max flew deeper into space, he spotted something incredible. There was Chompy the Dinosaur, the same friend who had backpacked all the way to Mexico, now floating through space and diving into a giant infinity pool!

“Chompy!” Chatta Max called out excitedly. “What are you doing out here?”

“Chatta Max!” Chompy replied happily, splashing in the floating water that drifted around like sparkling jewels. “I’m staying at this amazing space hotel! The pools here have no gravity, so the water floats everywhere!”

“That looks so cool!” Chatta Max said, his happiness growing even more. “I’m so glad to see you here! Would you like to come with me to visit Captain Milky Way’s dairy farm?”

“I’d love to!” Chompy said, climbing out of the floating pool. “I’m feeling happy and ready for adventure too now!”

Chatta Max used his UFO to pick up Chompy, and together they flew toward the coordinates Captain Milky Way had given them. As they traveled through space, Chatta Max noticed that sharing his joy with a friend made the feeling even better.

“You know what, Chompy?” Chatta Max said. “Feeling this happy is even more fun when you have someone to share it with!”

“I agree!” Chompy replied. “Your happiness is making me feel joyful too!”

Soon, they could see the most amazing sight ahead of them. Captain Milky Way’s dairy farm was like nothing they had ever seen before. It was a huge space station shaped like a giant ice cream cone, floating among the stars with colorful lights twinkling all around it.

“Welcome to the Milky Way Ice Cream Space Farm!” Captain Milky Way called out as she flew up to meet them in her own spaceship. “I’m so happy to see you both!”

“We’re happy to be here too!” Chatta Max and Chompy said together.

Captain Milky Way led them to a special docking area where they put on space suits designed just for visiting the ice cream farm. The suits were white with colorful sprinkles painted all over them.

“I feel so energized I can barely contain myself!” Chatta Max said as they walked through the airlock into the farm. “My heart is beating fast, and I can’t stop smiling!”

Inside the space farm, Chatta Max and Chompy gasped with wonder. There were ice cream making machines floating in zero gravity, and cows wearing astronaut helmets grazing on special space grass that grew in floating gardens.

“This is where we make ice cream flavors that you can’t find anywhere else in the universe,” Captain Milky Way explained proudly. “We have flavors that taste like shooting stars, nebula swirl, and even cosmic chocolate!”

“Cosmic chocolate!” Chatta Max exclaimed, bouncing with joy. “That sounds perfect! I’m sponsored by a chocolate company!”

Captain Milky Way scooped up bowls of different flavors for her guests to try. There was rainbow asteroid ice cream that changed colors as you ate it, meteor mint that sparkled on your tongue, and the special cosmic chocolate that tasted like the best chocolate in the galaxy mixed with stardust.

“This is incredible!” Chompy said as he tried the nebula swirl. “I’ve never tasted anything like this!”

“The cosmic chocolate is my new favorite flavor!” Chatta Max said, taking another spoonful. “I feel so happy and grateful that I got to try this amazing ice cream!”

As they sat together in the space farm, floating gently while they ate their ice cream, Chatta Max reflected on his wonderful day.

“You know what I learned about feeling excited today?” Chatta Max said. “Excitement is a wonderful feeling that makes everything seem more fun and adventurous. When I felt excited about visiting Captain Milky Way, it gave me the energy to transform and fly all the way to space!”

“And I learned that this feeling can spread to others,” Chompy added. “When you shared your excitement with me, it made me feel the same way!”

Captain Milky Way nodded wisely. “Excitement is one of the best emotions because it helps us try new things and have amazing adventures. When we feel excited, we’re more willing to explore and discover wonderful surprises.”

“I also learned that sharing excitement with friends makes it even better,” Chatta Max continued. “When I told Chompy about my adventure, and when we explored the space farm together, the excitement felt bigger and more fun!”

As they finished their space ice cream, Chatta Max felt a different kind of happiness settling in his heart. It was still excitement, but now it was mixed with contentment and gratitude.

“I feel excited and grateful at the same time,” Chatta Max observed. “Excited about all the amazing things I experienced today, and grateful that I got to share them with such wonderful friends.”

“That’s a perfect way to feel,” Captain Milky Way said with a smile. “Excitement helped you start this adventure, and now you have beautiful memories that will make you feel happy whenever you think about them.”

Soon it was time for Chatta Max and Chompy to head home. They said goodbye to Captain Milky Way and promised to visit again soon. As they flew back through space in the chocolate-sponsored UFO, Chatta Max felt his energy transforming into peaceful satisfaction.

“Today I learned so much about excitement,” Chatta Max said as they traveled back toward Earth. “I learned that excitement is the feeling you get when you’re looking forward to something wonderful. It makes your body feel full of energy and your mind feel ready for adventure.”

“I learned that excitement can help you be brave,” Chompy added. “When I felt excited about joining your adventure, I wasn’t scared to try something new.”

“And I learned that excitement is even better when you share it with friends,” Chatta Max continued. “When we got excited together, it made the whole experience more fun and meaningful.”

As they approached Earth, Chatta Max began to transform back into his regular tiny green self. He thanked Chompy for joining his adventure and flew back down to his cozy home under Oni Pepperoni’s bathtub.

Sitting on his giant couch, Chatta Max felt wonderfully tired and happy. His feelings had carried him on an amazing journey, and now he felt peaceful and content.

“Excitement is such a special feeling,” Chatta Max said to himself as he settled down for a nap. “It helps us discover new places, try new things, and make wonderful memories with friends. And the best part is, there’s always something new to feel excited about!”

As Chatta Max drifted off to sleep, he dreamed about cosmic chocolate ice cream, floating pools in space, and all the exciting adventures still waiting for him in the future. And as he dreamed, a little smile stayed on his face, because he knew that tomorrow would bring new reasons to feel excited all over again.

The post Chatta Max’s Exciting Space Journey first appeared on Oni Pepperoni.

Transcript for Parent Storytellers

Oni Pepperoni was having the most wonderful summer day. He had just finished listening to his friend Chatta Max tell amazing stories about his alphabet adventure to Mexico, and now Oni was ready for his own adventure.

“Today feels like a perfect day for swimming!” Oni said to himself as he put on his favorite orange swim trunks. He grabbed his swimming goggles and headed to the big community pool in town.

When Oni arrived at the pool, his eyes grew wide with amazement. There were so many people there! He started counting: “Ten, twenty, thirty, forty…” There were nearly one hundred people splashing and playing in the huge swimming pool.

“Wow!” Oni exclaimed, feeling excited. “This is going to be so much fun!”

Oni found a spot near the shallow end and jumped into the cool, refreshing water. He felt happy as he splashed around with all the other swimmers. There were kids playing water tag, adults doing laps, and teenagers taking pictures with their underwater cameras near a special glass viewing cage in the middle of the pool.

Oni was having a great time when suddenly, something unexpected happened. Through the crystal-clear water, he could see dark shapes moving toward the pool.

“Look!” called out a girl named Nora, pointing toward the deeper end of the pool. “What are those?”

Everyone turned to look, and Oni felt his heart start beating faster. Swimming into the pool were three friendly-looking sharks! But these weren’t scary sharks – they had big smiles and gentle eyes.

“Sharks!” someone yelled, and suddenly Oni felt a rush of fear. It was a cold, fluttery feeling in his tummy that made him want to run away.

Almost everyone in the pool felt the same way. People started scrambling out of the water, their faces showing worry and fright. Oni felt scared too, and he climbed out onto the pool deck with most of the other swimmers.

“I feel afraid,” Oni said to himself, putting his hand on his chest where his heart was beating fast. “That’s okay – being scared is a normal feeling when something surprising happens.”

But not everyone got out of the pool. In the middle of the water, there was a group of teenagers inside a special glass cage that let them stay underwater and take pictures of sea life. They looked curious and excited rather than scared.

“Look at them!” said Nora, who was standing next to Oni on the pool deck. “They seem brave.”

“I think they feel curious,” Oni observed, watching the teenagers. “Curious is when you want to learn more about something, even if it seems a little scary at first.”

The teenagers in the cage were indeed feeling curious. They had their underwater cameras ready and were taking pictures as the sharks swam closer and closer. The sharks seemed to be swimming faster now, circling around the cage in a playful way.

Oni noticed that his scared feeling was starting to change as he watched. “I’m beginning to feel less afraid,” he said. “The sharks look friendly, and they’re not trying to hurt anyone.”

As the sharks swam around the cage, something amazing began to happen. The sharks started to change! Their fins began to stretch and grow until they looked like legs, and they could walk on the bottom of the pool just like people!

“That’s incredible!” Oni gasped, now feeling amazed instead of scared. “I feel wonder – that’s when something is so cool that it makes you feel happy and surprised at the same time!”

The teenagers in the cage were taking lots of pictures as colorful fish started swimming around them too. There were bright yellow fish, purple fish with silver spots, and orange fish that reminded Oni of his pepperoni spots.

“It’s beautiful!” said Nora, and Oni could see that she was feeling the same sense of wonder that he was.

Some of the other people on the pool deck started to feel differently too. A girl named Betty, who Oni recognized from previous adventures, came over to join them.

“I was feeling worried at first,” Betty said, “but now I feel excited. Those sharks with legs are the coolest things I’ve ever seen!”

Oni nodded. “I felt scared when I first saw the sharks, but now I feel curious and excited too. It’s okay to feel different emotions as things change.”

The shark-leg creatures were now walking around on the bottom of the pool, playing with the colorful fish. They looked so friendly and playful that more and more people started to feel comfortable again.

“I think I feel brave enough to go back in,” said Nora. “Brave is when you do something even though you felt scared before.”

“Me too!” said Oni. “But let’s go slowly and see how we feel.”

Oni, Nora, and Betty carefully climbed back into the shallow end of the pool. Oni noticed that his scared feeling was completely gone now, replaced by excitement and curiosity.

As they got closer to the amazing scene, one of the shark-leg creatures walked over to them. It had the kindest eyes and the biggest, friendliest smile.

“Hello!” the shark-creature said in a gentle voice. “I’m sorry we scared everyone at first. We’re actually here to play and make friends!”

“You can talk!” Oni exclaimed, feeling delighted. “I feel happy and surprised!”

“We love meeting new friends,” the shark-creature continued. “We came here because we heard there was a boy who goes on amazing adventures. Are you Oni Pepperoni?”

“That’s me!” Oni said proudly. “I love adventures, and I love meeting new friends!”

The teenagers in the cage swam up to join them, their faces glowing with joy. “This is the best day ever!” one of them said. “We feel so grateful that we got to see something this special!”

Soon, more people started getting back in the pool. Everyone was feeling different emotions – some people felt excited, others felt amazed, and some still felt a little nervous, but in a good way.

Oni spent the rest of the afternoon swimming and playing with the shark-leg creatures and the colorful fish. He felt so many wonderful emotions: joy when he played water tag with a purple fish, pride when he helped a younger kid feel brave enough to meet a shark-creature, and contentment as he floated on his back looking up at the blue sky.

As the sun began to set, the shark-leg creatures and the fish started to swim away. “Thank you for being such wonderful friends,” they called to everyone. “Remember, it’s always okay to feel scared at first – that just means you’re being careful. But don’t let fear stop you from discovering amazing things!”

Oni waved goodbye, feeling grateful for the incredible day he’d had. As he dried off with his towel, Betty and Nora came over to talk.

“That was amazing,” Betty said. “I learned that it’s okay to feel scared sometimes.”

“And I learned that feelings can change,” Nora added. “I went from scared to curious to excited to happy!”

Oni nodded thoughtfully. “I learned so much about emotions today,” he said. “Let me think about everything we felt and learned.”

As Oni walked home, he thought about his emotional journey. “Today I learned about so many different feelings,” he said to himself. “I felt excited when I first got to the pool, then scared when I saw the sharks, then curious when I watched them change, then amazed when they grew legs, then brave when I went back in the water, then happy when I made new friends, and finally grateful for the whole adventure.”

“I learned that all feelings are okay to have,” Oni continued. “Being scared helped keep me safe at first. Being curious helped me learn new things. Being brave helped me try something new. And being happy and grateful made the whole day even better.”

Oni also realized something important. “I learned that feelings can change quickly, and that’s normal. You might feel one way at the beginning of something and completely different by the end. The most important thing is to notice your feelings and know that they’re all okay.”

When Oni got home, he told his mama all about his adventure. “It sounds like you had quite an emotional journey,” she said with a smile. “And it sounds like you learned a lot about understanding and managing your feelings.”

That night, as Oni got ready for bed, he felt peaceful and content. He had learned that emotions are like the weather – they come and go, they can change quickly, and each one teaches us something important.

“Tomorrow I might feel completely different emotions,” Oni said as he snuggled into his bed. “And that’s perfectly okay. Every feeling has something to teach me, and every day is a new adventure for my heart.”

And with that thought, Oni Pepperoni fell asleep, dreaming of friendly shark-creatures, colorful fish, and all the wonderful emotions that make life such an amazing adventure.

The post Oni Pepperoni and the Friendly Shark Surprise first appeared on Oni Pepperoni.

Transcript for Parent Storytellers

In Oni Pepperoni’s bathroom, underneath the big white bathtub, lived a very special friend. His name was Max, but everyone called him Chatta Max because he loved to talk! Chatta Max was so tiny that you couldn’t see him with just your eyes – he was microscopic! But if you looked at him under a microscope, you would see a little green fellow with the biggest blue eyes you’ve ever seen.

Chatta Max had made himself the coziest home you could imagine under the bathtub. He had a tiny door painted bright red, and inside was a giant couch (well, giant for someone his size) where he loved to sit and chat with his friends.

One morning, Chatta Max woke up feeling very excited. He had been planning the most amazing adventure!

“Today’s the day!” Chatta Max said to himself, bouncing around his little home. “I’m going to travel all the way to Mexico, just like my friend Chompy the Dinosaur did! But I’m going to do something special along the way – I’m going to collect letters of the alphabet!”

You see, Chatta Max had heard about Chompy’s incredible backpacking adventure from Germany to Mexico, and he wanted to go on the same journey. But since Chatta Max was so small and loved to talk, he decided to make it a learning adventure.

“A is for Adventure!” Chatta Max announced as he packed his microscopic backpack. “And that’s exactly what I’m going to have!”

Chatta Max had planned his route carefully. He would start in Germany, travel through Austria, cross the Arctic ice bridge, go through Canada and the United States, and finally reach Mexico. And at each important stop, he would find a letter to help other kids learn the alphabet.

“B is for Backpack!” Chatta Max said as he strapped on his tiny green backpack. It was just the right size for a microscopic traveler.

Chatta Max climbed up through the bathtub drain and began his journey. Since he was so small, he could travel in ways that bigger creatures couldn’t. He hitched a ride on a friendly butterfly that was flying toward Europe.

“C is for Cold!” Chatta Max called out as they flew over the snowy mountains of Germany. The air was chilly, but Chatta Max was bundled up in his warm microscopic winter coat.

When they reached Germany, Chatta Max thanked the butterfly and began exploring. The first thing he noticed were the tall pine trees, just like the ones Chompy had described.

“D is for Deciduous trees… wait, no! D is for Different trees!” Chatta Max laughed. “These are pine trees, and they’re Evergreen! E is for Evergreen!”

Chatta Max was so excited that he started talking faster and faster, which is how he got his nickname in the first place.

As he made his way through Germany and into Austria, Chatta Max kept finding new letters everywhere he looked.

“F is for Forest!” he said as he walked through the woods. “G is for Germany! And H is for Happy, because that’s how I feel!”

Soon, Chatta Max reached the Arctic, where he could see the same ice bridge that Chompy had crossed. But since Chatta Max was microscopic, the ice bridge looked like a giant highway to him.

“I is for Ice!” Chatta Max said as he carefully walked across the sparkling bridge. “And J is for Journey!”

As he crossed the ice bridge, Chatta Max heard a familiar deep voice.

“Well, hello there, little friend!” called the friendly Black Yeti, who was walking across the bridge too. “I can barely see you, but I can hear your cheerful voice!”

“Hi there!” Chatta Max called back. “I’m Chatta Max, and I’m on an alphabet adventure to Mexico! K is for Kind, just like you!”

The Yeti smiled. “I remember another traveler who came this way recently – a little dinosaur named Chompy. Are you following the same path?”

“Yes!” Chatta Max said excitedly. “L is for Learning, and that’s what I’m doing on my journey!”

The Yeti wished Chatta Max good luck, and the tiny traveler continued on his way.

When Chatta Max reached North America, he was amazed by how different everything looked.

“M is for Mountains!” he said as he saw the Rocky Mountains in the distance. “And N is for North America!”

As he traveled south through Canada, Chatta Max made friends with a small ant who was also heading south for the winter.

“O is for Outstanding!” Chatta Max told the ant. “This journey is outstanding! And P is for Path, because we’re following the same path that Chompy took!”

The ant and Chatta Max traveled together through the United States, sharing stories and helping each other along the way.

“Q is for Quiet,” Chatta Max whispered as they passed through a peaceful forest. “But I don’t like being quiet very much because I love to chat!”

“R is for Road!” he said as they followed a winding trail. “S is for South, because that’s where we’re going!”

Finally, after many days of traveling, Chatta Max could smell something wonderful in the air – the salty scent of the ocean and the sweet smell of tropical flowers.

“T is for Tropical!” Chatta Max exclaimed as he entered Mexico. “And U is for Unbelievable, because this place is unbelievable!”

Just like Chompy had done, Chatta Max found a beautiful coconut tree near the beach. But since he was so tiny, he could make his home inside a coconut itself!

“V is for Very special!” Chatta Max said as he climbed inside the coconut. “This is very special indeed!”

From inside his coconut home, Chatta Max could hear the wind rustling through the palm leaves and the gentle sound of waves on the beach.

“W is for Wind and Waves!” he said happily. “X is for… hmm… X marks the spot where I completed my adventure!”

Chatta Max spent the evening thinking about his incredible journey and all the letters he had discovered along the way.

“Y is for Yes!” he said. “Yes, I did it! I traveled all the way from Germany to Mexico, just like Chompy! And Z is for… Zzz… because now I’m ready for a good night’s sleep!”

As Chatta Max settled down in his cozy coconut home, he felt very proud of himself. He had completed his alphabet adventure and learned so much along the way.

The next morning, Chatta Max decided it was time to head home to share his adventure with Oni Pepperoni. Using his microscopic size to his advantage, he hitched a ride with a friendly seagull that was flying north.

When he finally made it back to the bathroom under Oni’s bathtub, Chatta Max was bursting with excitement to tell his story.

“Oni! Oni!” Chatta Max called out, even though he knew Oni couldn’t see him. “I went on the most amazing alphabet adventure!”

Even though Oni couldn’t hear Chatta Max’s tiny voice, somehow Oni seemed to sense that his microscopic friend was back home.

“Welcome back, Chatta Max,” Oni said softly, as if he knew his little friend was there. “I hope you had a wonderful adventure.”

Chatta Max settled back onto his giant couch and smiled. He thought about everything he had learned on his journey.

“Today I learned the whole alphabet!” Chatta Max said to himself. “From A for Adventure all the way to Z for Zzz! I learned that every letter has special meaning, and you can find letters everywhere you go. I learned that A is for Adventure, B is for Backpack, C is for Cold, and all the way through the alphabet!”

Chatta Max also realized something else important. “I learned that even though I’m very small, I can go on big adventures just like my friend Chompy. And I learned that talking about what you’re learning makes it even more fun!”

As Chatta Max drifted off to sleep on his cozy couch, he dreamed about all the letters dancing in his head. In his dreams, the letter A looked like a mountain, B looked like his backpack, C looked like the curve of the ice bridge, and all the other letters reminded him of the wonderful things he had seen on his journey to Mexico.

And from that day on, whenever Chatta Max wanted to remember his adventure, he would recite the alphabet and think about his amazing journey from Germany all the way to Mexico, following in the footsteps of his friend Chompy the Dinosaur.

“Learning letters is the best adventure of all!” Chatta Max whispered happily, and with that, he fell fast asleep, ready to dream of his next alphabet adventure.

The post Chatta Max’s Alphabet Adventure to Mexico first appeared on Oni Pepperoni.

Transcript for Parent Storytellers

In a cozy valley between tall mountains, lived a little green dinosaur named Chompy. He wasn’t a scary dinosaur at all – he was about the size of a friendly dog, with three small horns on his head and the biggest smile you’ve ever seen. Chompy loved nothing more than exploring the great outdoors with his trusty backpack.

One morning, Chompy woke up with the most exciting idea he’d ever had.

“Today’s the day!” he said to himself, jumping out of his leafy bed. “I’m going to start my dream adventure – a backpacking trip all the way from Europe to Mexico!”

Chompy had been planning this adventure for months. He’d heard about it from his friend Niko, who had once swum across the ocean and seen many amazing places. Niko had told him about a special trail that started in the pine forests of Germany and went all the way to the sunny beaches of Mexico.

“It’s the most amazing journey you can imagine,” Niko had said. “Through pine forests, over ice bridges, down through North America, and finally to the coconut trees of Mexico!”

Chompy packed his little green backpack with everything he would need: a tiny tent, a sleeping bag that was just his size, some dried berries, and a special compass that his grandfather had given him.

“First stop – the pine forests of Germany!” Chompy said excitedly as he strapped on his backpack and headed out.

The trail began in a beautiful forest filled with tall pine trees that reached up toward the sky. The air smelled fresh and piney, and Chompy could hear birds singing in the branches above.

“This is perfect!” Chompy said as he hiked along the winding trail. His little dinosaur feet made soft thumping sounds on the forest floor, and pine needles crunched under his toes.

After hiking for several hours, Chompy reached the most wonderful spot he’d ever seen. It was at the very top of a mountain peak, with views stretching out in every direction. Far below, he could see forests, rivers, and tiny towns that looked like toy villages.

“This is where I’ll make my first camp,” Chompy decided.

He carefully set up his tiny tent on a flat spot near some rocks. The tent was bright orange and looked like a little pumpkin sitting on top of the mountain. As the sun began to set, Chompy made a small campfire and cooked some of his dried berries for dinner.

“Tomorrow, I start the really exciting part,” Chompy said to himself as he watched the stars come out. “I’ll cross the ice bridge in the Arctic!”

The next morning, Chompy packed up his tent and continued north. The weather got colder and colder as he walked. Soon, he could see snow on the mountain peaks, and his breath made little puffs of steam in the chilly air.

When he reached the Arctic, Chompy gasped in amazement. Stretching out in front of him was a huge ice bridge that sparkled like diamonds in the sunlight. It was wide enough for him to walk across safely, and it connected two tall, snowy cliffs.

“Wow!” Chompy exclaimed. “This is even more amazing than Niko described!”

Carefully, step by step, Chompy walked across the ice bridge. His dinosaur claws helped him grip the slippery ice, and halfway across, he stopped to look around. Everything was white and blue and silver – the most beautiful winter wonderland he’d ever seen.

As Chompy reached the other side of the ice bridge, he heard heavy footsteps crunching through the snow.

“Hello there, little friend!” called a deep, gentle voice.

It was the friendly Black Yeti! His thick, dark fur was perfectly suited for the cold Arctic weather, and he was carrying a large walking stick made from ice.

“Yeti!” Chompy called back happily. “What are you doing all the way up here?”

“This is my home,” the Yeti explained with a warm smile. “I live in these snowy mountains. I saw you crossing the ice bridge – that was very brave! Where are you headed?”

“I’m backpacking all the way to Mexico!” Chompy said proudly. “I just crossed my first ice bridge!”

“That’s incredible!” the Yeti said. “I’ve helped many travelers through these mountains, but you’re the first dinosaur I’ve met on such an epic journey. Be safe, my friend, and enjoy the warm sunshine when you reach Mexico!”

The Yeti waved goodbye as Chompy continued south through North America. He hiked through snowy mountains, across wide plains covered with wildflowers, and past crystal-clear lakes that reflected the sky like mirrors.

For days and days, Chompy walked and camped and explored. He saw buffalo grazing in the distance, eagles soaring overhead, and deer drinking from sparkling streams. Each night, he set up his little orange tent in a new place and fell asleep under different stars.

Finally, after weeks of hiking, Chompy reached the border of Mexico. The air was warm and humid, and he could smell the ocean in the distance. Palm trees swayed in the gentle breeze, and colorful birds flew through the trees.

“I made it!” Chompy cheered, doing a little dinosaur dance. “Now for the final part of my adventure!”

Chompy followed a trail that led toward the coast. Soon, he could hear the sound of waves crashing against the shore. And there, right in front of him, was the most perfect coconut tree he’d ever seen.

It was tall and strong, with big green coconuts hanging from its branches. The tree grew right next to the beach, so Chompy could see the beautiful blue ocean stretching out to the horizon.

“This is where I’ll make my final camp,” Chompy decided.

Using his strong dinosaur claws, Chompy carefully climbed up the coconut tree. About halfway up, he found the perfect spot – a place where several thick branches came together, creating a natural platform.

Chompy set up his tent among the coconut tree branches. It was the most unusual campsite he’d ever had! He was high enough to see for miles across the ocean, and the gentle swaying of the tree felt like being rocked in a giant cradle.

“Now for the best part,” Chompy said with a grin.

He used his three little horns to carefully crack open one of the coconuts. Inside was the most delicious coconut milk he’d ever tasted – sweet and refreshing and perfectly cold. Then he scooped out the white coconut meat with his claws and ate it for dinner.

“This is better than any dried berries,” Chompy laughed.

As the sun set over the ocean, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink, Chompy sat in his tree-top camp and listened to the peaceful sounds around him. The wind rustled through the palm leaves above his head, making a gentle whooshing sound. The waves rolled onto the beach below with a soft, rhythmic splash. Tropical birds called to each other from the nearby trees.

“I can’t believe I actually did it,” Chompy said to himself. “I hiked all the way from Germany to Mexico!”

That night, Chompy slept better than he ever had before. His tent swayed gently in the ocean breeze, and he dreamed of all the amazing places he’d seen and all the adventures he’d had.

When morning came, Chompy climbed down from his coconut tree and sat on the warm sand of the beach. He pulled out a small notebook and wrote down everything he wanted to remember about his incredible journey.

“What an amazing adventure,” he said as he finished writing. “I learned so much!”

Chompy thought about everything that had happened during his trip. “I learned that with good planning and determination, you can go anywhere you want to go,” he said. “I learned that every place in the world has its own special beauty – from pine forests to ice bridges to coconut trees.”

He also realized something else important. “I learned that adventures are even better when you have friends to share them with,” he said, thinking about meeting the friendly Yeti in the Arctic. “And I learned that sometimes the most amazing discoveries happen when you’re brave enough to try something completely new.”

As Chompy packed up his tent one last time, he smiled thinking about all the stories he would have to tell when he got home. His backpacking adventure from Germany to Mexico had been everything he’d dreamed of and more.

“Maybe next time, I’ll invite some friends to come with me,” Chompy said as he started the long journey home. “Adventures are great, but sharing them with others makes them even more special.”

And with his trusty backpack on his shoulders and his heart full of wonderful memories, Chompy the dinosaur began his journey home, already planning his next great adventure.

The post Chompy the Dinosaur’s Epic Backpacking Adventure first appeared on Oni Pepperoni.

Transcript for Parent Storytellers

In the deep blue ocean, where the water sparkled like jewels and colorful coral swayed gently in the current, lived a little fish named Benny. Benny had bright orange and white stripes, just like a clownfish, and he was always curious about the world around him.

One sunny morning, when the sunlight filtered down through the water in beautiful golden beams, Benny woke up feeling particularly adventurous.

“Today feels like a perfect day for exploring!” Benny said to himself, stretching his fins and swimming in a happy circle.

Benny had a special fishing net that his grandfather had given him – it was just the right size for a little fish like him to carry. The net was woven from the finest seaweed and had tiny shells decorating the edges.

“I think I’ll go fishing today,” Benny decided. “Maybe I can catch something interesting to show Mama!”

Benny swam through the coral reef, past the sea anemones that waved hello with their colorful tentacles, and out toward the deeper parts of the ocean where bigger fish liked to swim.

As he swam along, trailing his little fishing net behind him, Benny hummed a happy tune. The water was warm and clear, and schools of tiny silver fish darted around him like underwater confetti.

Suddenly, Benny felt a tug on his net. Something had swum right into it!

“Oh my!” Benny exclaimed, carefully pulling his net closer to see what he had caught.

To his surprise, there was a small, shimmering fish with beautiful purple and blue scales. The little fish looked confused but not scared.

“Hello there,” said the little fish politely. “I’m sorry I swam into your net. I was chasing a piece of floating seaweed and wasn’t watching where I was going.”

“That’s okay!” Benny replied kindly. “I’m Benny. What’s your name?”

“I’m Niko,” said the little fish. “I was just exploring the reef looking for my favorite type of kelp for lunch.”

Benny looked at Niko and then at his net. He had wanted to catch a fish, but now that he had actually met one, it felt strange to think about keeping Niko as his catch.

“You know what, Niko?” Benny said, opening his net wide. “I think you should be free to swim wherever you want to go.”

“Thank you, Benny!” Niko said gratefully. “You’re very kind. Would you like to explore together? I know some really interesting places around here.”

“I’d love that!” Benny replied, and the two new friends swam off together.

They hadn’t gone very far when they heard a friendly voice calling from above.

“Hello down there, little fish!”

Benny and Niko looked up to see Charlie, the same friendly frog who had recently taught her baby frogs how to count at their pond tea party. Charlie was visiting the ocean for the day, wearing tiny flippers on her webbed feet.

“Hi Charlie!” Benny called up to her. “What brings you to the ocean?”

“I heard there was going to be an underwater tea party today,” Charlie explained, swimming down to meet them. “Some of my pond friends told me about it, and I thought it sounded like fun!”

“An underwater tea party?” Niko asked excitedly. “That sounds amazing! Where is it?”

“Follow me!” Charlie said with a big smile. “It’s near the big oak kelp forest, where the whale family likes to gather.”

The three friends swam together toward the kelp forest. The tall, brown kelp swayed back and forth like underwater oak trees, creating a peaceful, shaded area in the ocean.

As they approached, they could see a magnificent sight. A family of whales had arranged themselves in a circle, and on their backs were tiny tables made from large, flat shells. Smaller sea creatures were sitting around the tables, sipping tea from acorn caps and tiny conch shells.

“Welcome to our underwater tea party!” called out the largest whale, whose name was Walter. “We have plenty of room for more friends!”

Benny, Niko, and Charlie swam up to join the party. Walter had a particularly large, flat spot on his back where they could all sit together.

“This is incredible!” Benny said, looking around at all the sea creatures enjoying their tea. There were seahorses, colorful fish, a few crabs, and even an octopus who was using all eight arms to serve tea to different guests.

“What kind of tea do you have?” asked Niko curiously.

“We have kelp tea, sea grass tea, and even some special bubble tea that tickles your nose!” explained a friendly sea turtle who was floating nearby.

The three friends each chose a different tea to try. Benny picked the kelp tea, which tasted fresh and salty like the ocean breeze. Niko chose the sea grass tea, which was sweet and smooth. Charlie decided to try the bubble tea, which made her giggle every time she took a sip.

“This is the most wonderful tea party I’ve ever been to,” Charlie said, thinking about the tea party she had just had with her baby frogs by the pond.

As they sipped their tea, the whales began to sing a beautiful, deep song that echoed through the water. Other sea creatures joined in, creating the most amazing underwater concert.

Just then, they noticed something floating down from above. It was a collection of green, oval-shaped objects.

“Are those avocados?” Benny asked, watching them sink slowly through the water.

“They must have fallen from a tree near the shore,” Walter the whale explained. “Sometimes fruit falls into the ocean. The avocados won’t hurt anything – they’ll eventually become food for the sea creatures who live near the bottom.”

“Can we help collect them?” Niko asked. “We could make sure they get to the right places.”

“What a thoughtful idea!” said the octopus, whose name was Isla. “I can use my eight arms to gather them up quickly.”

Soon, all the tea party guests were working together to collect the floating avocados. Benny used his fishing net to scoop up several at once, while Niko and Charlie helped guide them toward Isla’s waiting arms.

“Teamwork makes everything easier,” observed Walter as they finished collecting all the avocados.

As the afternoon went on, the underwater tea party became even more fun. The sea creatures shared stories, played gentle games like “follow the current,” and enjoyed delicious snacks made from sea vegetables and tiny shrimp.

Benny realized that this day had turned out much better than he had originally planned. He had set out to catch a fish for dinner, but instead he had made new friends and experienced something truly special.

“You know,” Benny said to Niko and Charlie as they floated together, watching the whale family’s synchronized swimming, “I’m glad I let you go, Niko. If I had kept you in my net, we never would have had this amazing adventure together.”

“And I’m glad I got lost chasing that seaweed,” Niko replied. “Otherwise I never would have met such a kind friend.”

“This reminds me of my own tea party with my baby frogs,” Charlie added. “The best parties are the ones where everyone feels welcome and happy.”

As the sun began to set above the ocean, casting beautiful orange and pink colors through the water, the tea party guests started to say their goodbyes.

“Thank you for including us in your tea party,” Benny said to Walter and the other whales.

“You’re always welcome here, young friends,” Walter replied warmly. “The ocean is big enough for everyone to share wonderful adventures.”

Benny, Niko, and Charlie swam together back toward the coral reef where Benny lived. Along the way, they planned their next adventure and promised to stay friends forever.

When Benny finally reached his home, his mama was waiting for him, just like always.

“Hello, Benny!” she said, giving him a warm hug. “Did you catch anything interesting with your fishing net today?”

Benny thought for a moment, then smiled the biggest smile. “I caught something even better than a fish, Mama. I caught new friendships and an amazing adventure!”

He told his mama all about meeting Niko, swimming with Charlie, joining the whale tea party, and helping collect the floating avocados.

“That sounds like the most wonderful kind of catch,” his mama said proudly. “You learned that sometimes the best treasures aren’t things you can hold in a net – they’re the experiences you share with friends.”

As Benny settled down to sleep in his cozy coral home, he thought about all the amazing things that had happened that day.

“Today I learned that being kind to others leads to the best adventures,” he said sleepily. “I learned that working together makes hard jobs easier, like when we collected all those avocados. And I learned that the most special parties are the ones where everyone feels welcome and included.”

Benny closed his eyes and dreamed of swimming with whales, sipping tea under the kelp forest, and all the new adventures he would have with his friends Niko and Charlie.

And as the gentle ocean currents rocked him to sleep, Benny knew that tomorrow would bring even more opportunities for kindness, friendship, and underwater fun.

The post Benny the Fish’s Underwater Adventure first appeared on Oni Pepperoni.
