Transcript for Parent Storytellers

Once upon a time, there was a kid named Shelly who loved shells.

Not just any shells, either. Shelly loved sparkly shells.

If a shell had a tiny shine, Shelly would notice it right away. If a shell had a little glittery stripe, Shelly would hold it up to the sun and smile like she’d just found a secret treasure.

One sunny morning, Shelly skipped down to the beach with a small bucket and a pencil for sketching. She wore her favorite sandals, because they made a soft flip-flop sound that felt like a marching song.

“Shell day,” Shelly whispered to herself. “The best kind of day.”

She started her shell hunt near the tide line, where the waves slid in and out like they were breathing. Shelly crouched down and carefully picked up a smooth white shell. Then a pink one. Then a tiny one that looked like it had been painted with faint dots.

Shelly held up the dotted shell and turned it in the light.

“Ooo,” she said. “This one is almost sparkly.”

She placed it gently into her bucket, like it was a baby bird.

Just then, a cloud drifted away from the sun, and the air changed. It smelled fresh and watery, like the ocean had just taken a big sip.

Shelly looked up.

A rainbow was stretching across the sky.

It started near the water and reached all the way toward the hills, like someone had painted a giant smile in the air.

Shelly’s mouth fell open.

“A rainbow!” she said. “A rainbow rainbow!”

She grabbed her sketchbook from her backpack so fast it nearly bonked her on the nose. She flipped it open, planted her pencil on the paper, and began drawing the rainbow’s curve.

But halfway through the first stripe, Shelly stopped.

She stared at her pencil. She stared at her plain paper.

Then she stared at the rainbow again.

“I want to draw it,” Shelly said. “But I want it to be a sparkly rainbow.”

She peeked into her bucket of shells. There were shells, yes. Some were shiny. A few were extra bright. But none of them were the kind of sparkles Shelly was imagining.

Shelly sighed.

“There is just one problem,” she said. “I don’t have sparkles.”

She blinked hard, like maybe sparkles would appear if she blinked the right way.

They didn’t.

Shelly pressed her lips together and thought.

Then her face changed.

Her eyes widened.

“Oh,” Shelly said slowly. “Oh! I know! I know!”

“Know what?” a voice nearby asked.

Shelly turned and saw a kid walking along the beach with a little notebook in her hand. She had a thoughtful look on her face, like she was always in the middle of a good idea.

It was Charlie.

Charlie waved. “Hi! You’re Shelly, right? The one who finds the best shells.”

Shelly stood a little taller. “That’s me.”

Charlie glanced up at the sky. “That rainbow is huge.”

“I’m trying to draw it,” Shelly said, holding up her sketchbook. “But I want it to be sparkly, and I don’t have sparkles.”

Charlie nodded seriously, like this was an important problem.

“You know,” Charlie said, “one time I went to a tea party with frogs. A counting tea party.”

Shelly’s eyes grew wide. “A counting tea party with frogs?”

Charlie nodded. “They wore tiny hats. They poured tea carefully. And they counted everything. Cups, cookies, napkins, even little sugar cubes.”

Shelly smiled. “That sounds amazing.”

“It was,” Charlie said. “And the frogs taught me something. When you don’t have what you need, you can either give up… or you can make a plan.”

Shelly nodded hard. “Plan!”

Charlie pointed at her sketchbook. “So what’s your plan for sparkles?”

Shelly lifted her pencil like a microphone. “My plan is… to find sparkles.”

Charlie grinned. “Good plan. Where do you find them?”

Shelly looked around. The wet sand shimmered. The water flashed in the sun. Even some shells seemed to wink.

But she wanted sparkles she could use on her paper. Sparkles that would stay.

“Maybe,” Shelly said, “we ask somebody else.”

Charlie nodded. “Yeah. Someone who likes ideas.”

Just then, a familiar voice called out, “Hey! What are you two working on?”

Shelly and Charlie turned and saw Oni Pepperoni walking toward them, a small bag over his shoulder and a curious smile on his face.

“Oni!” Charlie said. “Hi!”

Shelly waved. “Hi Oni Pepperoni!”

Oni looked up at the sky. “Whoa. That’s a really good rainbow.”

“I want to draw it,” Shelly said. “But I want it to be sparkly, and I don’t have sparkles.”

Oni tapped his chin. “Okay. I have two questions.”

Shelly leaned in.

“First,” Oni said, “are we allowed to use glitter?”

Charlie shrugged. “Glitter is sparkly.”

Oni nodded. “It is. But glitter gets everywhere.”

Shelly imagined glitter in her hair, her shoes, and her sandwich.

She shook her head. “No thank you.”

“Second question,” Oni said. “Do you want nature sparkles?”

Shelly’s eyes lit up. “Yes!”

Oni smiled. “Good. Because the beach is full of them.”

The three of them walked along the shoreline together, like a small team. Shelly carried her bucket. Charlie held her notebook. Oni glanced up at the rainbow every few steps, just to make sure it was still there.

They stopped where tiny pieces of shell were mixed into the sand, shining softly.

Oni crouched. “See these? Tiny shell bits.”

Shelly scooped some into her palm. “They’re like sparkle crumbs.”

Charlie nodded. “Good sparkle crumbs.”

Oni said, “Only the smooth ones.”

Shelly carefully picked out the safe, shiny pieces and tucked them into her bucket.

Nearby, Shelly spotted a flat rock with a thin layer of dried salt left behind by the tide.

Charlie touched it. “It feels crunchy.”

“Salt can look sparkly when it dries,” Oni said.

Shelly’s eyes widened. “Can we use it?”

Oni nodded. “With glue. Just a tiny pinch.”

Shelly nodded seriously. “A tiny pinch.”

Then Shelly spotted a shell on a piece of driftwood. It shone softly, like it had its own light.

“A sparkle shell,” she said.

Charlie leaned closer. “That one’s special.”

Oni smiled. “That can be your inspiration.”

Shelly hugged it to her chest.

Oni gestured around them. “See? We didn’t have to go anywhere. The beach already had everything we needed.”

Shelly turned slowly, looking at the sand, the water, and the light dancing everywhere. “You’re right.”

She looked up at the rainbow again. “I want my drawing to glow like that.”

Charlie opened her notebook. “The frogs would say: step by step.”

Shelly nodded. “Step by step.”

Oni sat on a flat rock and opened his bag. Inside was a small bottle of glue and a little brush.

Charlie blinked. “Why do you have glue?”

Oni shrugged. “Just in case.”

Shelly laughed.

They spread everything out on the rock.

Shelly drew the rainbow carefully. Red. Orange. Yellow. Green. Blue. Purple.

“Glue time?” she asked.

Oni handed her the brush.

Shelly painted thin glue lines and added tiny dots around the rainbow.

“Nature sparkles,” Oni said.

Shelly sprinkled shell crumbs and added a tiny pinch of salt.

They waited.

The glue set.

Shelly lifted the page.

The rainbow shimmered.

Not like store glitter.

Like beach sparkle.

“I did it,” Shelly said softly. “I made a sparkly rainbow.”

Charlie pointed up. The real rainbow was fading.

“It’s okay,” Shelly said. “I saved it.”

Oni nodded. “And you made it your own.”

Charlie smiled. “The frogs would be proud.”

Shelly giggled. “Tell them thanks.”

They walked back toward school together, Shelly holding her drawing carefully.

Maybe next time, she’d draw a sparkly rainbow with a shell castle underneath.

Because with Shelly, you never knew what she would make next.

The post Shelly and the Sparkly Rainbow Plan first appeared on Oni Pepperoni.

Transcript for Parent Storytellers

In the deep blue ocean, where the water sparkled like jewels and colorful coral swayed gently in the current, lived a little fish named Benny. Benny had bright orange and white stripes, just like a clownfish, and he was always curious about the world around him.

One sunny morning, when the sunlight filtered down through the water in beautiful golden beams, Benny woke up feeling particularly adventurous.

“Today feels like a perfect day for exploring!” Benny said to himself, stretching his fins and swimming in a happy circle.

Benny had a special fishing net that his grandfather had given him – it was just the right size for a little fish like him to carry. The net was woven from the finest seaweed and had tiny shells decorating the edges.

“I think I’ll go fishing today,” Benny decided. “Maybe I can catch something interesting to show Mama!”

Benny swam through the coral reef, past the sea anemones that waved hello with their colorful tentacles, and out toward the deeper parts of the ocean where bigger fish liked to swim.

As he swam along, trailing his little fishing net behind him, Benny hummed a happy tune. The water was warm and clear, and schools of tiny silver fish darted around him like underwater confetti.

Suddenly, Benny felt a tug on his net. Something had swum right into it!

“Oh my!” Benny exclaimed, carefully pulling his net closer to see what he had caught.

To his surprise, there was a small, shimmering fish with beautiful purple and blue scales. The little fish looked confused but not scared.

“Hello there,” said the little fish politely. “I’m sorry I swam into your net. I was chasing a piece of floating seaweed and wasn’t watching where I was going.”

“That’s okay!” Benny replied kindly. “I’m Benny. What’s your name?”

“I’m Niko,” said the little fish. “I was just exploring the reef looking for my favorite type of kelp for lunch.”

Benny looked at Niko and then at his net. He had wanted to catch a fish, but now that he had actually met one, it felt strange to think about keeping Niko as his catch.

“You know what, Niko?” Benny said, opening his net wide. “I think you should be free to swim wherever you want to go.”

“Thank you, Benny!” Niko said gratefully. “You’re very kind. Would you like to explore together? I know some really interesting places around here.”

“I’d love that!” Benny replied, and the two new friends swam off together.

They hadn’t gone very far when they heard a friendly voice calling from above.

“Hello down there, little fish!”

Benny and Niko looked up to see Charlie, the same friendly frog who had recently taught her baby frogs how to count at their pond tea party. Charlie was visiting the ocean for the day, wearing tiny flippers on her webbed feet.

“Hi Charlie!” Benny called up to her. “What brings you to the ocean?”

“I heard there was going to be an underwater tea party today,” Charlie explained, swimming down to meet them. “Some of my pond friends told me about it, and I thought it sounded like fun!”

“An underwater tea party?” Niko asked excitedly. “That sounds amazing! Where is it?”

“Follow me!” Charlie said with a big smile. “It’s near the big oak kelp forest, where the whale family likes to gather.”

The three friends swam together toward the kelp forest. The tall, brown kelp swayed back and forth like underwater oak trees, creating a peaceful, shaded area in the ocean.

As they approached, they could see a magnificent sight. A family of whales had arranged themselves in a circle, and on their backs were tiny tables made from large, flat shells. Smaller sea creatures were sitting around the tables, sipping tea from acorn caps and tiny conch shells.

“Welcome to our underwater tea party!” called out the largest whale, whose name was Walter. “We have plenty of room for more friends!”

Benny, Niko, and Charlie swam up to join the party. Walter had a particularly large, flat spot on his back where they could all sit together.

“This is incredible!” Benny said, looking around at all the sea creatures enjoying their tea. There were seahorses, colorful fish, a few crabs, and even an octopus who was using all eight arms to serve tea to different guests.

“What kind of tea do you have?” asked Niko curiously.

“We have kelp tea, sea grass tea, and even some special bubble tea that tickles your nose!” explained a friendly sea turtle who was floating nearby.

The three friends each chose a different tea to try. Benny picked the kelp tea, which tasted fresh and salty like the ocean breeze. Niko chose the sea grass tea, which was sweet and smooth. Charlie decided to try the bubble tea, which made her giggle every time she took a sip.

“This is the most wonderful tea party I’ve ever been to,” Charlie said, thinking about the tea party she had just had with her baby frogs by the pond.

As they sipped their tea, the whales began to sing a beautiful, deep song that echoed through the water. Other sea creatures joined in, creating the most amazing underwater concert.

Just then, they noticed something floating down from above. It was a collection of green, oval-shaped objects.

“Are those avocados?” Benny asked, watching them sink slowly through the water.

“They must have fallen from a tree near the shore,” Walter the whale explained. “Sometimes fruit falls into the ocean. The avocados won’t hurt anything – they’ll eventually become food for the sea creatures who live near the bottom.”

“Can we help collect them?” Niko asked. “We could make sure they get to the right places.”

“What a thoughtful idea!” said the octopus, whose name was Isla. “I can use my eight arms to gather them up quickly.”

Soon, all the tea party guests were working together to collect the floating avocados. Benny used his fishing net to scoop up several at once, while Niko and Charlie helped guide them toward Isla’s waiting arms.

“Teamwork makes everything easier,” observed Walter as they finished collecting all the avocados.

As the afternoon went on, the underwater tea party became even more fun. The sea creatures shared stories, played gentle games like “follow the current,” and enjoyed delicious snacks made from sea vegetables and tiny shrimp.

Benny realized that this day had turned out much better than he had originally planned. He had set out to catch a fish for dinner, but instead he had made new friends and experienced something truly special.

“You know,” Benny said to Niko and Charlie as they floated together, watching the whale family’s synchronized swimming, “I’m glad I let you go, Niko. If I had kept you in my net, we never would have had this amazing adventure together.”

“And I’m glad I got lost chasing that seaweed,” Niko replied. “Otherwise I never would have met such a kind friend.”

“This reminds me of my own tea party with my baby frogs,” Charlie added. “The best parties are the ones where everyone feels welcome and happy.”

As the sun began to set above the ocean, casting beautiful orange and pink colors through the water, the tea party guests started to say their goodbyes.

“Thank you for including us in your tea party,” Benny said to Walter and the other whales.

“You’re always welcome here, young friends,” Walter replied warmly. “The ocean is big enough for everyone to share wonderful adventures.”

Benny, Niko, and Charlie swam together back toward the coral reef where Benny lived. Along the way, they planned their next adventure and promised to stay friends forever.

When Benny finally reached his home, his mama was waiting for him, just like always.

“Hello, Benny!” she said, giving him a warm hug. “Did you catch anything interesting with your fishing net today?”

Benny thought for a moment, then smiled the biggest smile. “I caught something even better than a fish, Mama. I caught new friendships and an amazing adventure!”

He told his mama all about meeting Niko, swimming with Charlie, joining the whale tea party, and helping collect the floating avocados.

“That sounds like the most wonderful kind of catch,” his mama said proudly. “You learned that sometimes the best treasures aren’t things you can hold in a net – they’re the experiences you share with friends.”

As Benny settled down to sleep in his cozy coral home, he thought about all the amazing things that had happened that day.

“Today I learned that being kind to others leads to the best adventures,” he said sleepily. “I learned that working together makes hard jobs easier, like when we collected all those avocados. And I learned that the most special parties are the ones where everyone feels welcome and included.”

Benny closed his eyes and dreamed of swimming with whales, sipping tea under the kelp forest, and all the new adventures he would have with his friends Niko and Charlie.

And as the gentle ocean currents rocked him to sleep, Benny knew that tomorrow would bring even more opportunities for kindness, friendship, and underwater fun.

The post Benny the Fish’s Underwater Adventure first appeared on Oni Pepperoni.

Transcript for Parent Storytellers

On a warm, sunny morning by the edge of a sparkling pond, Mama Frog Charlie was getting ready for a very special day. She had ten little baby frogs hopping around her – the most energetic and giggly baby frogs you’ve ever seen!

“Good morning, my little hoppers!” Charlie called to her babies. “One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten! All my babies are here and ready for fun!”

The baby frogs were so excited they could barely sit still. They kept hopping from lily pad to lily pad, making little splashing sounds in the water.

“Mama Charlie! Mama Charlie!” called the smallest baby frog. “What are we going to do today?”

Charlie smiled her biggest frog smile. “Well, my dears, I was thinking we could have a tea party! But first, would you like to go for a swim in the warm pool over there?” She pointed with her webbed foot toward a cozy little section of the pond where the sun had been shining all morning, making the water perfectly warm.

“Yes!” all ten baby frogs shouted at once, hopping up and down with excitement.

“Wonderful!” Charlie laughed. “But let’s go in one at a time so we can count as we go. Who wants to be first?”

The biggest baby frog, who was always eager to try new things, raised his little green hand. “Me! Me! I want to go first!”

“Perfect!” said Charlie. “In you go, little one!”

SPLASH! The tenth baby frog jumped into the warm pool with the biggest smile on his face.

“Now,” Charlie said to the remaining frogs, “how many baby frogs are left with me?”

All the baby frogs looked around and counted together: “One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine! There are nine baby frogs left!”

“That’s right!” Charlie clapped her hands. “We started with ten, and now we have nine. Who wants to go next?”

Another baby frog hopped forward excitedly. “My turn! My turn!”

SPLASH! The ninth baby frog dove into the warm water to join her brother.

“Now how many are left?” Charlie asked.

“One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight!” counted the remaining baby frogs. “Eight baby frogs are left!”

“Excellent counting!” Charlie cheered. “We had nine, and now we have eight.”

One by one, the baby frogs continued jumping into the warm pool. Each time, Charlie helped them count how many were left.

SPLASH! went the eighth baby frog. “Seven left!” they all counted together.

SPLASH! went the seventh baby frog. “Six left!” they shouted.

SPLASH! went the sixth baby frog. “Five left!” they called out.

SPLASH! went the fifth baby frog. “Four left!” they counted.

The baby frogs were getting so good at counting backwards! Charlie was very proud of how well they were learning.

SPLASH! went the fourth baby frog. “Three left!” they said together.

SPLASH! went the third baby frog. “Two left!” they counted.

SPLASH! went the second baby frog. “One left!” called the last little baby frog, who was now all by himself with Mama Charlie.

The last baby frog looked around and giggled. “I’m the only one left with you, Mama!”

“That’s right, sweetie,” Charlie said, giving him a gentle hug. “You’re baby frog number one, and you’re the last one on the lily pad with me. Would you like to join your brothers and sisters in the warm pool?”

“Yes, please!” said the little frog, and with that, SPLASH! He jumped into the water with all the others.

Charlie looked around the lily pad. “Now how many baby frogs are with me on the lily pad?” she asked.

“Zero!” all ten baby frogs called from the water. “No baby frogs are left! They’re all in the pool!”

“That’s absolutely right!” Charlie laughed. “We started with ten baby frogs, and now zero are left on the lily pad because all ten are swimming in the warm pool!”

From the water, all the baby frogs started calling together: “Mama Charlie! Mama Charlie! Come in! Come in! The water is so warm and nice!”

Charlie smiled and looked at her ten happy baby frogs splashing and playing in the warm pool. “Well, if you insist! A mama frog needs to swim too!”

With a graceful leap, Charlie jumped into the warm pool with all her babies. “Now how many frogs are in the pool?” she asked as she floated happily.

“Eleven!” all the baby frogs counted together. “Ten baby frogs plus one mama frog equals eleven frogs!”

Just then, they heard a familiar voice from the shore. “Charlie! Baby frogs! I have a surprise for you!”

It was Papa Frog, Charlie’s husband, and he was carrying a large tray with tiny teacups, a teapot, and the most delicious-smelling snacks.

“Papa!” all the baby frogs cheered, swimming toward the edge of the pool.

“I thought you might be ready for your tea party,” Papa Frog said with a big smile. “I’ve been preparing the best tea party treats while you were all learning to count and swim!”

Charlie and all ten baby frogs climbed out of the warm pool, shaking the water droplets from their green skin. They gathered in a circle on the soft grass by the pond’s edge.

Papa Frog carefully set out eleven tiny teacups – one for each baby frog and one for Charlie. He poured the most delicious lily pad tea into each cup and placed small pond cookies on little plates.

“This is the best tea party ever!” said the smallest baby frog, taking a tiny sip from his teacup.

As they enjoyed their tea party, Charlie helped the baby frogs practice their counting one more time.

“Let’s count our teacups,” Charlie suggested. “One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven! Eleven teacups for our tea party!”

“And let’s count the cookies!” added another baby frog. They counted together: “One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve! Twelve cookies – that’s one extra for sharing!”

Just as they were finishing their tea, they heard a friendly buzzing sound overhead. It was Buzzy the bee, who had been exploring the pond area looking for flowers.

“Hello down there!” Buzzy called as he landed on a nearby lily pad. “I couldn’t help but notice your wonderful tea party. You all look so happy!”

“Hi Buzzy!” Charlie waved. “We’ve been having a counting and swimming adventure, and now we’re having a tea party! Would you like to join us?”

“I’d love to,” Buzzy said, “but I just finished having lunch with my friend Oni Pepperoni. He was practicing counting marshmallows! It sounds like you’ve been practicing counting too!”

“We have!” all the baby frogs said excitedly. “We counted backwards from ten all the way to zero, and then we counted our tea party supplies!”

“That’s wonderful!” Buzzy smiled. “Counting is so much fun, especially when you’re doing it with friends and family.”

As the sun began to set over the pond, Charlie gathered all her baby frogs close to her.

“What a perfect day we’ve had,” she said softly. “We learned so much about counting today, didn’t we?”

“Yes, Mama!” the baby frogs replied.

“Let’s remember what we learned,” Charlie said. “We started with ten baby frogs and counted backwards as each one jumped into the pool. Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one, and finally zero! Then when I joined you, we had eleven frogs total.”

The baby frogs nodded happily. “And we learned that when you take away one from a group, the number gets smaller!” added one of the baby frogs.

“And we learned that when you add someone to a group, the number gets bigger!” said another.

“That’s exactly right,” Charlie said proudly. “You’ve all become such good counters today. Numbers help us understand how many things we have and how many are left when some go away or when more join us.”

Papa Frog began collecting the teacups and plates. “And the best part,” he said with a wink, “is that we learned it all together as a family, with swimming, splashing, and a delicious tea party!”

As the stars began to twinkle above the pond, Charlie and Papa Frog tucked all ten baby frogs into their cozy beds among the cattails.

“Good night, my little counters,” Charlie whispered. “Dream of numbers and tea parties and warm swimming pools.”

“Good night, Mama Charlie,” all the baby frogs said together. “Thank you for teaching us to count backwards and for the best tea party ever!”

And as the gentle sounds of the pond filled the air, Charlie smiled, knowing that her baby frogs had learned something new while having the most wonderful day together as a family.

The post Charlie and the Frogs’ Counting Tea Party first appeared on Oni Pepperoni.

Transcript for Parent Storytellers

In a lovely castle surrounded by gardens full of colorful flowers, lived Princess Elora and her very special friend, Baby Simba. Baby Simba wasn’t just any ordinary kitty – he was a baby lion with the softest golden fur and the sweetest little mane that was just starting to grow.

Princess Elora loved Baby Simba more than anything in the whole world, and Baby Simba loved Princess Elora just as much. They did everything together – playing in the castle gardens, reading stories by the fireplace, and having the most wonderful tea parties.

One sunny afternoon, Princess Elora received a very fancy invitation written on sparkly purple paper.

“Baby Simba!” she called excitedly. “We’ve been invited to the Royal Tea Party at the Crystal Palace! It’s going to be the fanciest tea party ever!”

Baby Simba meowed with excitement, his little tail twitching with joy.

Princess Elora put on her most beautiful dress – a flowing pink gown with tiny pearls sewn all over it. She wore her grandmother’s diamond tiara and her special white gloves that reached all the way to her elbows.

“Now it’s your turn, Baby Simba,” she said gently.

She carefully dressed Baby Simba in a tiny blue velvet jacket with golden buttons and a matching bow tie. On his head, she placed a small crown that was just his size.

“You look so handsome!” Princess Elora said, giving him a gentle hug.

Together, they walked to the Crystal Palace, where the most amazing tea party was already in full swing. There were long tables covered with white tablecloths, fancy china teacups painted with roses, and towers of the most delicious little cakes and sandwiches.

Princess Elora and Baby Simba sat at a table with other royal guests. They sipped tea from tiny cups, ate cucumber sandwiches with their pinkies up, and listened to a string quartet playing gentle music.

“This is the best tea party ever,” Princess Elora whispered to Baby Simba, who purred in agreement.

As the afternoon went on, they made friends with the other guests and even learned some new royal manners. Baby Simba was especially good at sitting still and not knocking over any teacups, which made Princess Elora very proud.

When the tea party began to wind down, Princess Elora gathered all their special gifts from the party – a set of miniature teacups, tiny silver spoons, and delicate porcelain saucers that were small enough for Baby Simba to use.

“We should head home now,” Princess Elora said, carefully balancing all their new treasures in her arms while holding Baby Simba close to her chest.

They said goodbye to their new friends and started walking back toward the castle. Princess Elora was feeling very proud of how well-behaved Baby Simba had been at such a fancy party.

But as they approached a busy street, something unexpected happened. Princess Elora was trying to balance all the delicate teacups and saucers while holding Baby Simba, and suddenly one of the tiny spoons slipped from her grasp.

As she reached down to catch it, Baby Simba tumbled right out of her arms and landed on the ground with a soft thud.

“Oh no!” Princess Elora gasped.

Baby Simba immediately started trembling and meowing in a scared voice. His eyes grew wide, and he pressed himself as flat as he could against the ground.

“Baby Simba! Are you hurt?” Princess Elora asked, setting down the tea party gifts and kneeling beside him.

But Baby Simba wasn’t hurt – he was scared. Very, very scared.

“I don’t like being on the ground,” Baby Simba whimpered. “What if something comes to get me? What if a crab scuttles by and pinches my nose? My nose is very sensitive, and that would hurt so much!”

Princess Elora looked around. They were near the palace gardens, and she could see the small pond where some friendly crabs lived. She understood why Baby Simba was worried.

“Oh, my sweet Baby Simba,” Princess Elora said gently. “I understand why you’re scared. But you know what? I’m right here with you.”

Just then, they heard a familiar voice. “Princess Elora! Baby Simba! What are you doing down there?”

It was Sparkle the Unicorn, who had been visiting the palace gardens. Her rainbow mane sparkled in the afternoon sunlight.

“Baby Simba fell, and now he’s scared to be on the ground,” Princess Elora explained. “He’s worried about the crabs from the pond.”

Sparkle trotted over and lowered her head to look at Baby Simba kindly. “I know those crabs,” she said. “They’re actually very friendly. They only pinch when they’re scared too. But they’re all taking a nap in the pond right now.”

Baby Simba lifted his head slightly. “Really?”

“Really,” Sparkle nodded. “And besides, Princess Elora is here to protect you. She loves you so much.”

Princess Elora gently reached out her hands. “Baby Simba, would you like me to pick you up? I promise I’ll hold you extra carefully this time.”

Baby Simba looked up at Princess Elora’s kind face. He saw how much she cared about him and how sorry she was that he had fallen.

Slowly, he stood up and walked toward her open arms. “Yes, please,” he said softly.

Princess Elora carefully lifted Baby Simba and held him close to her heart. She could feel his little body relax as he snuggled against her.

“There,” she said, stroking his soft fur. “You’re safe with me. I’ll always take care of you, Baby Simba.”

Baby Simba purred contentedly. Being in Princess Elora’s arms made him feel completely safe and loved. The scary ground didn’t seem so frightening anymore when he was with his best friend.

“Thank you for helping us, Sparkle,” Princess Elora said.

“Anytime,” Sparkle replied with a smile. “That’s what friends do – we help each other feel brave.”

With Baby Simba safely in her arms and their tea party treasures carefully balanced, Princess Elora crossed the street successfully. Baby Simba felt so comfortable and secure that he wasn’t worried about anything anymore.

When they reached their castle, Princess Elora’s parents were waiting for them in the garden.

“How was the Royal Tea Party?” asked the Queen.

“It was wonderful,” Princess Elora said, setting down their tea party gifts. “And we learned something important too.”

“What’s that?” asked the King.

“We learned that even when scary things happen, having someone who loves you nearby makes everything better,” Princess Elora explained, giving Baby Simba a gentle hug.

Baby Simba meowed in agreement. “And I learned that being brave is easier when you have a best friend.”

That evening, Princess Elora and Baby Simba had their own little tea party in the castle garden, using their new miniature teacups and saucers. They sat on a soft blanket spread on the grass, and Baby Simba didn’t mind being close to the ground at all – because Princess Elora was right there beside him.

As the stars began to twinkle in the sky, they curled up together, feeling grateful for their friendship and the wonderful adventure they had shared.

“Good night, Baby Simba,” Princess Elora whispered.

“Good night, Princess Elora,” Baby Simba purred back. “Thank you for always keeping me safe.”
